When I was in college in West Virginia, I could sort almost all my friends into two buckets: Team Nas and Team Jay Z. (Hey, there wasn't much to do in West Virginia.) I wasn't a Nas fan; I was a Nas Stan. I had Esco's posters, bought every album (yes, even Nastradamus), and knew every word of every song on Illmatic.
