The staff of AllHipHop.com will be joined by Styles P, Naughty By Nature, Saigon, and NY Oil for the first ever Hip-Hop 4 Haiti Benefit Relief Concert Series. For 3 hours, a myriad of Hip-Hop artists past and present will grace the stage to raise funds for the Haitian Support Project Relief Fund. The requested minimum donation is $20, and all proceeds will go to Haiti. Other confirmed artists for the event include Emilio Rojas, ESSO, Ron Browz, DJ J. Ronin, and DJ Webstar. A little over 2 weeks have passed since Haiti was devastated by a 7.0 earthquake. To date, relief agencies continue to struggle in preventing child trafficking/molestation, shelter for the displaced, and removal of the excess debris from destroyed structures. The goal of the concert series is to utilize Hip-Hop’s inclusive power to address the moral obligation of the international community in Haiti’s revitalization. The concert will be held tomorrow (January 30) at the National Black Theater, located on 2031 5 Avenue, New York, NY 10035-1503.

Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, mother of the late J Dilla (James Yancey), has verified the re-establishment of the non-profit J Dilla Foundation, new legal management for her son’s estate, and several album projects for 2010. The organization had become defunct due to legal entanglement over the state laws for Dilla’s estate, and friction between the Yancey family and previous estate executor Arty Erk. With a completely new team that includes Joylette Hunter (fiancée to Dilla and mother of his youngest daughter Ja’Mya Sherran Yancey) as Vice-Chair, Ms. Yancey explained how the changes will mark a fresh beginning for Dilla’s legacy. “We changed formats and have a whole new group of people. We're one big team to correct all the problems with Dilla's estate, because he did have a will,” Yancey told AllHipHop.com. “The foundation was in my heart of hearts to do. Now with a team of people from all over the country, they're just so good professionally and in love with what they do, it makes it so easy. It's been wonderful. Everything is being done together.”

The owners of a popular exotic auto dealership in Phoenix that was used by producer Swizz Beatz and other celebrities to purchase exotics cars, has been accused of massive fraud and using illicit money from Mexico to fund their businesses. Swizz Beatz, who is the godfather to Nazreth Derboghossian and Jodi Upton’s 8-month old son, has bought or traded at least 25 cars through Exotic Auto and Leasing and Scottsdale Lotus. In addition to Swizz Beatz, the dealerships counted Penny Hardaway, Mike Bibby and others as celebrity clients and specialized in customizing Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Mercedes-Benz’s. Derboghossian, 50, is charged with 102 felony counts, which include assisting a criminal syndicate, theft by extortion, conspiracy and a host of other offenses. Rapper and activist Wyclef Jean has already denied any conscious wrongdoings involving his Yele Haiti charity, but he has gone one step further to clear his reputation, by hiring new accountants. Just hours before yesterday’s Hope For Haiti telethon, Wyclef announced he has hired accounting firm RSM McGladrey to administer the millions in donations that are being pledged to Haiti through the non-profit. Yele Haiti came under scrutiny when the organization's tax records hit the Internet last week. The rapper was accused of wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars and over paying himself and his partner Jerry Duplessis through the charity. Wyclef already admitted to wrong doing, although he blamed it on inexperience, hence the new accounting firm. "Have we made mistakes? Yes," Jean admitted. “Did I ever use Yele money for personal benefit? Absolutely not.” Jean told Oprah Winfrey that he has learned from his past mistakes with the charity. "I think we have learned from our mistakes," Jean told Oprah Winfrey. "In moving forward, I think we're going to be stronger than ever."

Flavor Unit emcee Apache, born Anthony Teaks, passed away today (January 22) after a protracted illness. As an original member of Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit, Apache first appeared on 45 King Presents The Flavor Unit and his best known single “Gangsta B**ch” peaked at #11 on Billboard's Hot Rap Singles chart. Shakim Compere, CEO and Co-Founder of Flavor Unit Records, remembered Apache. “Without Apache there would have been no Queen Latifah, no Naughty By Nature, no Chill Rob G., no anything” Compere told AllHipHop.com. “Apache was the string that tied all of Flavor Unit together. Without Apache none of this would be.” Apache was one of the three original rappers in Flavor Unit, which also counted Queen Latifah and Latee as early group members. The rap crew expanded and consisted of groups or rappers like Lakim Shabazz, Lord Alibaski, Chill Rob G., Naughty By Nature, Freddie Foxxx, Nikki D and Queen Latifah. Apache's appearances included collaborations with Naughty by Nature, Fat Joe, Tupac, and A Tribe Called Quest.

Queen YoNasda, granddaughter of Nation of Islam founder Louis Farrakhan, has teamed with rapper NYOIL and a number of organizations to create Hip Hop 4 Haiti. HH4H is a nationwide fundraising event that will take place January 30th in 10 major cities across the United States. In New York, the HH4H event will be hosted by NYOIL at the National Black Theater in Harlem New York, from 5:00 PM-11:00 PM. The national fundraising event is endorsed by Dr. Ron Daniels of the Institute of the Black World (I.B.W.) and all proceeds and relief collected from the event will go to its nationally recognized Haiti Relief Fund. "Hip-Hop is a family we don't always see eye to eye and we are always arguing, like most families; but don't mistake that familiarity as breeding contempt,” NYOIL told AllHipHop.com. “Understand that we bicker fuss and fight because we are family and at our essence we have immense love for one another and what we are all a part of.” In addition to Queen YoNasda and NYOIL, the event is being presented by Brothers Care Inc., AllHipHop.com, HoodlifeMovement.com, DJ Green Lantern, Shock Ra Entertainment, New Image Alliance, the Institute of the Black World and P.E.M.G.

Hip-Hop star Lupe Fiasco could help determine who sits in the controversial vacant Senate seat left by President Obama. The rapper will perform at a fundraiser for Chicago Urban League Chief Cheryle Jackson, who is one of five democratic hopefuls running for the seat in the February 2 primary. The seat was held by ousted Governor Rod. Blagojevich, who was impeached and removed from office twice for trying to sell Obama’s seat. Cheryle Jackson, who was Blagojevich’s press secretary during his initial inauguration, left the governor’s office to head up the Chicago Urban League. Lupe will perform at the Shrine Chicago in support of Jackson on January 28.
