Pete Rock, Tek & Steele Chastise NYPD Over Club Raid During Release Party

Super producer Pete Rock and rappers Tek & Steele of Smif-N-Wessun held a press conference this afternoon, to answer questions relating to an altercation between the police and fans, during their record release party on Tuesday (June 28th), in New York. Pete Rock, and Tek and Steele were celebrating the release of their new album Monumental at Tammany Hall on the lower East side of Manhattan. The chaos began when a group of concertgoers were turned away by managers and bouncers at the club. According to a statement released by the rappers, over 15 to 20 uniformed police officers from the 7th Precinct arrived at the venue and began assaulting patrons outside of the venue, for no reason. "The officers then hurried into the club and began macing and assaulting individuals inside the club, dragging one of them out and pummeling him directly in front of the club," the rappers said in a joint statement released today (June 30th).

Diddy Selling New Jersey Mansion For $13.5 Million

Hip-Hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is selling his opulent, Alpine, New Jersey mansion for $13.5 million. The New York Post reports that Combs has put the 12,000 square-foot, Colonial style home up for sale, after paying $6 million for the residence in 2004. Combs originally lived in the house with his longtime girlfriend, Kim Porter and their son Christian. According to The Post, the mansion is being put up for sale because Combs and Porter spend more time in Los Angeles. But the rap mogul will not be without a roof over his head after the sale of his New Jersey mansion. In addition to his mansion in Los Angeles, Combs has residences in Miami, New York and Atlanta. As for Porter, Combs purchased her a $5 million, 9,655-square-foot, six bedroom, mansion in Toluca Lake, California last year.

Dramatic Story Of Lorenzo 'Fat Cat' Nichols Heading To Theaters

The story of legendary Queens, New York drug kingpin Lorenzo "Fat Cat" Nichols is being shopped, raising funds and securing distribution via Sophie Lily Weinstein's film company, Synergy Media Productions. Weinstein, who is the CEO and founder of Synergy Media Productions, has acquired the script from screenwriter Curtis Scoon, an associate of Nichols', who also served as co-producer of an "American Gangster" episode about the infamous Queens drug dealer. "Cat's impact has had a long reaching ripple effect," Sophie Lily Weinstein told AllHipHop.com. "There isn't a person in this country who wasn't impacted by the crack era and the laws put in place, either directly or indirectly through its influence in pop culture/Hip-Hop. The script will focus on Nichols' early childhood in Queens, his association with Hip-Hop culture and his reign as a drug dealer, which helped usher in the infamous Rockefeller Drug Laws. Nichols was eventually sentenced to a total of 40 years in prison for murders, racketeering, and drug-related charges. "It is my hope this project does for the black gangster what 'Goodfellas' did for the mob," screenwriter Curtis Scoon told AllHipHop.com. "Strip away the glamorous veneer, to reveal the raw brutality of the urban underworld."

Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music Lands Worldwide Deal With Island Def Jam

Rapper Kanye West continues his business affiliation with the Island Def Jam Music Group, as his imprint G.O.O.D. Music has inked a worldwide, long-term deal with the major label. The first release under the new agreement will be Big Sean's highly anticipated debut, Finally Famous, which features the award-winning hit single "My Last," featuring R&B singer Chris Brown. "G.O.O.D. Music is an exciting new chapter in the long and successful association of Kanye West and Island Def Jam," said Island Def Jam's current CEO, Barry Weiss, who left Jive to take over as CEO at the label in March of 2007. "As a recording artist and a producer over the past eight years, there is no one who has made a greater impression on the game than Kanye," Weiss said. "We look forward to working closely with the new and established artists that he will be bringing to G.O.O.D. Music, which is already off to an impressive start with Big Sean." Kanye West has been labeled "an integral core" artist on the Island Def Jam Music Group, having sold over 20 million records since his debut in 2004, with the critically acclaimed album The College Dropout.

Urban Wrestling Federation Premieres With Rap Heavy Lineup Tonight

The Hip-Hop themed urban wrestling Federation (UWF) will make its national debut tonight (June 26th), on pay-per-view. The UWF's "First Blood" pay-per-view will feature a number of Hip-Hop artists, including legend Mele Mel, New York rapper Red Cafe, Uncle Murda, Brisco, Billy Blue, Cuban Linx, Russell "Big Block" Spencer, 40 Glocc, and others. A variety of wrestlers will face-off against each other in the ring, with matches lined up between Homicide and Eddie Kingston, Murder 1 vs. Low Life Louis Ramos and Ruckus & Grim Reefer vs. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and the Ghetto Mafia. The "First Blood" pay-per-view was taped on June 3rd, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, while the new Urban Wrestling Federation officially launched in February. According to UWF's found Steve Karel, the new federation should be considered the next evolution in extreme wrestling, which was pioneered by Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), which Karel helped start. "The crazy wrestling matches of the past will look like a game of cards compared to what is in store for the UWF," founder Steve Karel told AllHipHop.com. The UWF's "First Blood" pay-per-view will air tonight at 8:00 PM EST, with a recast airing at 11:00 PM.
