LA Police Investigate Game Over Tweet That Jammed Emergency Phone Lines

Compton, California rapper Game is in hot water with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, after he sent a tweet out containing the department's number, which jammed emergency lines for hours yesterday (August 12th). Game sent out a series of tweets during an exchange with one of his 580,421 followers on Twitter, one of the world's most popular social networking sites. In one of the messages, the rapper listed the departments number and allegedly suggested fans call for internships. Thousands of fans created what has been labeled a "telephone flash mob," which overwhelmed the Los Angeles County Sheriff's emergency phone system. According to LA County Sheriff spokesperson Lieut. Suzan Young, the phone started ringing around 5:20 PM yesterday and were jammed for almost two hours, delaying emergency calls. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is opening an investigation into the incident.
