Jay-Z and Beyonce Issue Official Statement About Blue Ivy’s Birth

Proud parents Jay-Z and Beyoncé has issued a statement on the birth of their first daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. The couple stated that Blue Ivy's birth was extremely peaceful and despite rumors, Beyoncé delivered the baby through natural childbirth and not a C-section as was widely reported. "Hello Hello Baby Blue! We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter," the couple said in a statement. "Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven." According to the Carters, Blue Ivy weighed 7 pounds when she was born, on January 7. "It was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support," the couple said.
